General Information:

Art critics say, arch Jerry Gruzevski is a leading artists on today's market. There are about 770 original art works by Gruzevski in ~21-23 countries. He has been listed by the Metropolitan Art Museum, American Watercolor Society, The Copley Society of Art (Boston) and other leading art organizations worldwide. Surprisingly, His art works are still affordable. They have helped leading architects, banks, companies, hotels, foundations, hospitals, golf resorts in their business promotion. Many are in private collections of international personalities: Madame Irene du Pont, Countess Alvares P. de Sch. W., Duke de C., Countess Teresa “Tetka A. Gorayska Lindeman, Sir Robert Symington, Baroness Barbara P-Johnson, Dom de L., families: E.S.S., Johnson & Johnson, Alvares P., de Braganca, de Melo, and more.

Jaroslav (Jerry) accepts commissions for: Residential Portraits, Architectural Landmarks, Landscapes and Abstracts. Each art work come with an official Certificate of Originality

His painting reached prices above $14,000 USD during the Cranbrook (Academy of Fine Arts), New York City, St Paul (MN), Art Auctions in 1990-12. It is predicted, that in 2025-30 Jerry’s watercolors will be on the $15,000 - 20,000 USD price level.

"So popular are Arch. Gruzevski's paintings that he limits himself to "commissioned" work only. Owning a Gruzevski is a superb financial INVESTMENT. His watercolors consistently double their value during art auctions. Jaroslav's unique talent and the quality of his art work deserve the recognition he receives.

"While Mr. Gruzevski's architectural education serves him equally well whether he's painting the sun-washed villas, the buildings and gardens, it is his feeling for the medium and the subject, which he brings to each work, that makes it special. It is the balance of those closely related disciplines - Architecture and Fine Art - which he handles so deftly. There is an extraordinary quality to his work. Jerry has a wide international acceptance." by Ms. Corinne Abatt, art critic, The ECCENTRIC, Birmingham, MI, USA - 1987

Artist interview:

A Lasting Reminder of Your Home: Home Portraits

"BOSTON'S HOME AND GARDEN" Magazine, USA

For many of us, the house we live in comes to express so much of who we are, almost like a passport of our home lives. That's why it's becoming increasingly popular for homeowners to commission a portrait of their home that can remind them and future generations of what the house looked like at a particular time in its-and their-lives.

In Europe, where people frequently decorate their residencies and offices with original artwork, it is not uncommon to see a home portrait. Here, in the United States, the practice is less common, but gaining in popularity. And it does require special skills. Arch. Gruzewski, resident of Massachusetts brings the elegance of Europe to Boston with his lavish watercolor paintings. "I think a watercolor painting is more attractive, lighter, more sophisticated as any media," says Jerry, who brings to the work both a long history of art education and a masters degree in architectural design from MIT, Cambridge." Strong architectural background is necessary to paint architectural landmarks, residencies, villas," he says.

"Sometimes there are many layers of depth, several complicated perspective points involved, which make my architectural watercolors much more difficult to create than other paintings (like landscapes or abstracts)." The process of having a home portrait done requires that the artist see the subject in its best light. "If I am invited by a client to paint, I do it at a site" explains Jerry, "if I cannot come, I request several photos of the residence from different angles." He reviews the photos with the homeowner to select the most favorable angle and takes the photo back to his studio to create the painting, which takes up 12 days to complete. Most of his Residential Portraits, and Architectural Landmarks are about 20" x 29" (~50cm x 73cm).

Double sizes, can be commissioned.

The finished work includes wonderful details on both your home and the garden. Jerry often delivers his art works to his clients in person. For centuries, architectural home portraits were commissioned exclusively by the European aristocracy, for whom Jerry painted while in Europe.

For the rest of us, paintings by arch Gruzevski run around $7,500 USD (2002-2015), with the additional costs for framing, shipment, or artist personal delivery expenses. Architectural landmarks are very time taking and usually cost more, which is still a bargain considering his art works outstanding qualities not found in the art galleries, and very high artistic values. He has been painting for 30+ years. Jerry's name is well known to many internationally recognized art collectors, art dealers, organizations and the art galleries.
